About Us
I first became interested in knotting when I was in the sea scouts many years ago!
A sailor would come to show us how to tie the various knots. Then, in later years I made belts, bathroom cords and knot covered bottles.
In the 1980's I became a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers. This guild is now worldwide and has well over 1000 members.
How we started
More recently I had the idea of making knot decorated walking sticks. This then led to people asking me to make things for them, like bracelets and belts. From these beginnings What Knot Crafts evolved.
Since moving to the Isle of Wight I have become interested in using old/recycled rope to make garden ornaments amongst many other ideas.
We contribute a percentage of our profit and collect donations for the Marine Conservation Society who are trying to promote caring for our seas, shores and marine life.f you have any discarded rope that you could pass on, then I would be very grateful.
