About Us
I first became interested in knotting when I was in the sea scouts many years ago!
A sailor would come to show us how to tie the various knots. Then, in later years I made belts, bathroom cords and knot covered bottles.
In the 1980's I became a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers. This guild is now worldwide and has well over 1000 members.
How we started
More recently I had the idea of making knot decorated walking sticks. This then led to people asking me to make things for them, like bracelets and belts. From these beginnings What-Knot Crafts evolved.
Since moving to the Isle of Wight I have become interested in using old/recycled rope to make garden ornaments amongst many other ideas.
If you have any discarded rope that you could pass on, then I would be very grateful. This all helps to raise funds for the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat.
